March 2026 Drain Invader of the Month Chad Shears of Shears Drain Cleaning

Before launching his own business, Chad Shears had spent years in the plumbing trade while also giving back to his community. After entering the industry in 2012 and gaining experience as a service technician, he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, helping with local construction projects. That hands-on experience not only strengthened his skills but also gave him a sense of service that would shape how he approached his own business. Those experiences eventually led him to take the next step and start Shears Drain Cleaning three years ago.

Starting a business brought a new level of responsibility because, unlike working for another company, every job now reflected his own name and reputation. For Chad, building that reputation has meant focusing on transparency with customers and treating people fairly. Rather than relying on pressure or scare tactics, he believes in giving homeowners the information they need to make the right decision for their situation.

Over time, that approach has helped Chad build strong relationships not only with customers but with other plumbers in the area as well. Local companies that once worked alongside him in the trade now reach out when they need help on jobs or want to collaborate. That network of mutual respect is something Chad takes pride in, and it reflects the steady reputation he has built through consistency and honest work.

Looking ahead, Chad plans to continue growing Shears Drain Cleaning while staying true to the values that got him started. Family is becoming an increasingly important part of that journey, with his son and daughter joining him on jobs during the summer to see the trade firsthand. For Chad, passing along the lessons he has learned, including the value of hard work, honesty, and pride in doing the job right, is just as important as the work itself. It is this blend of family, community, and craftsmanship that makes Chad Shears our Drain Invader of the Month.
