Where It All Started
With nearly three decades in the plumbing trade, Ted Soong of Ted’s Plumbing is a true example of consistency, craftsmanship, and dedication. Originally from Riverside, California, Ted found his path after moving to his parents’ house in Ventura County. Fishing and relaxation filled his days and life was good. until his parents “encouraged” him to pursue a trade. After some thoughtful consideration, Ted decided to enter a plumbing apprenticeship, and quickly discovered that the job was about much more than just pipes and wrenches—it was a skillset that demanded both precision and adaptability. Over time, plumbing became more than a career—it became a craft he was proud to master.

On the Job
Ted’s foundation was built through years of real-world experience and the guidance of two key mentors: Ken Grant and Marshall Martinez. Ken taught Ted the importance of work ethic—how to put your head down, get the job done, and take pride in every task, no matter how small. Marshall, on the other hand, focused on quality and precision, pushing Ted to approach every project with care and discipline, especially in industrial settings where every detail mattered. Their influence helped shape Ted into the plumber he is today—skilled, thoughtful, and dependable. While he’s done a wide range of work over the years, Ted finds the most satisfaction in service calls— solving problems that others can’t, restoring order, and being the quiet hero customers didn’t realize they needed. Whether it’s clearing a simple stoppage or navigating a complex diagnostic, Ted thrives on being the person people count on when the unexpected happens.

Pride in the Craft
Ted takes pride in every aspect of his work, whether it’s a routine repair or a one-of-a-kind project that still stands out years later. His tool of choice might be a simple pair of channel locks, but his approach to the trade is anything but ordinary. For Ted, being a great plumber means staying adaptable, always learning, and finding the best solution no matter the challenge. In an industry that’s shifting toward sales-driven models and facing a shortage of skilled labor, Ted remains grounded in what truly matters—doing the job right, delivering quality service, and taking pride in a craft that keeps homes and businesses running. Ted Soong is more than just a plumber—he’s a steady force behind the systems most people never see, but depend on every single day.
